Last weekend, Raquel and I attended the first international Food Addiction Conference in Bristol, hosted by Public Health Collaboration and IFA.
It was an opportunity to meet in person a lot of our peers and some of our heroes. We were helping at the Food Addiction Institute stand as we are now both members of the board. We had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with our mentor, the inspiring Esther Helga Guðmundsdóttir a pioneer in Food Addiction Treatment. (If you want to know more about her you can click here).
We heard mind provoking and scientific talks from other experts like Paul Early, former president for the American Society of Addiction Medicine and Bitten Jonsson founder of the SUGAR tool for food addiction treatment. If you want to know more about Bitten and her profesional training click here.
It is mind blowing to see so many like-minded people in the same venue, also so many doctors came because they have been, like us, wondering what is the “missing link” between obesity and its treatment.
It was an amazing experience that we hope will be repeated annually.
Thank you to the Pharmacist that gave up Drugs who we have been following on twitter but never met.
We have been invited to another conference in London in July, will keep you posted.
